FORT MYERS, FL – The trial, filed on behalf of county residents in a class action lawsuit, seeks compensation from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for cutting down healthy citrus trees on residents’ property, in a failed attempt to eradicate citrus canker.

The lawsuit was first filed about seven years ago after an estimated 33,000 healthy trees at 11,700 Lee County homes were destroyed.(Full Story on News Press)
