PUNTA GORDA, FL – For over 20 years, the Punta Gorda Speedway has been a home to many in Charlotte County, now it’s in danger of closing.
The speedway’s owner says it’s not up to him because the Charlotte County Airport authority owns the land the speedways sits on.

NAPLES, FL – This weekend marks the 4th week of the python challenge. Since the event kicked off, only 41 pythons have been caught so far. And python hunters only have a few more weeks to compete for the grand prize of $1,500 dollars.

ESTERO, FL – Florida Gulf Coast University got another taste of Major League Soccer on Sunday afternoon when the Eagles took on the Chicago Fire for the third straight year at Ave Maria University.
The Fire, who have been training at Ave Maria since Jan. 20, beat three-time defending Atlantic Sun champion FGCU, 2-0, in three 30-minute periods. (Full Story on Naples News)
