Punta Gorda Speedway in its final lap?

PUNTA GORDA, FL – For over 20 years, the Punta Gorda Speedway has been a home to many in Charlotte County, now it’s in danger of closing.

The speedway’s owner says it’s not up to him because the Charlotte County Airport authority owns the land the speedways sits on.

Florida python hunt ends Sunday with 50 caught

NAPLES, FL – Heading into the final weekend of the state’s Python Florida Hunting Challenge, just 50 of the nonnative, nonvenomous constrictors had been wrestled out of the marshes and hammocks of the Everglades and Big Cypress swamp.

FGCU men’s soccer battles MLS’ Chicago Fire before falling 2-0

ESTERO, FL – Florida Gulf Coast University got another taste of Major League Soccer on Sunday afternoon when the Eagles took on the Chicago Fire for the third straight year at Ave Maria University.
