A bicyclist was killed today from injuries suffered in the Tour De Cape event in Cape Coral.

According to Cape Coral Police, two bicyclists taking part in the event were traveling east on Beach Parkway West in the 2800 block at 10:04 a.m. The front tire of one bicycle ridden by James Heneghan, 69, of Cape Coral, struck the rear tire of the other bicycle, causing Heneghan to lose control of his bike.
